Why Extensions

What they actually solve

Extensions are not about pretending to have different hair. They solve four specific structural problems on a wedding morning.

Length for a full jadai

A traditional alangaram needs a certain braid length to look proportioned. Extensions get you there without growing your hair for two years.

Volume for fine hair

A thin braid disappears under heavy billai and flowers. Added body makes the plait wide enough to carry the decoration properly.

Even taper

Layered hair braids to an uneven, wispy tail. Extensions fill the lower sections so the braid tapers cleanly into the kunjalam.

Colour matched

Matched to your mid-lengths and ends rather than your roots, which is where they will actually sit. Mismatched extensions are obvious in flash photography.

Fitted in 15 minutes

Clip-ins go in as part of the hairstyling, before the braid or bun is built. It adds very little to the morning schedule.

No damage, no commitment

Clip-in only. Nothing is glued, taped or bonded, and everything comes out the same night without touching your own hair.

Practicalities

What to know beforehand

Five honest points brides usually only discover on the wedding morning.

Match at the trial, not the day
Colour matching under your own lighting, at the trial, is the only reliable way. Matching at 3 AM under a hall tube light is guesswork.

Bring them if you own them
Extensions are included in the Platinum package. If you already own a set, bring them and we will work with those instead.

They add real weight
A full set plus flowers plus billai is a noticeable load. If you have neck or shoulder issues, tell us and we will build lighter.

Wash and dry them beforehand
If they are your own and have been worn before, wash them a few days ahead. Old product build-up stops them blending.

Removal is part of the service
For same-day reception turnarounds we take them out and re-set them for the evening style rather than leaving them in all day.

Bridal Hair Extensions — Questions

Do you provide hair extensions or should I buy my own?

Extensions are included in the Platinum package at ₹14,999 and can be added to any other package for an agreed difference. If you already own a set you are welcome to bring it and we will work with that.

Will hair extensions damage my hair?

We only use clip-ins. Nothing is glued, taped or bonded, and they come out the same night. The main risk with any extension is pulling, and clip-ins are the gentlest option available.

Will the extensions be visible in photographs?

Not when they are matched and fitted properly. We colour-match to your mid-lengths and ends at the trial rather than on the wedding morning, which is where mismatches usually come from.

How much length can extensions add?

Comfortably six to ten inches, which is normally the difference between a braid that looks short under a full jadai and one that looks proportioned.

Are extensions heavy to wear?

A full set has real weight, and with flowers and billai on top it is noticeable. We can build a lighter version if you have neck or shoulder concerns — just say so at the trial.

Can extensions be used for a bun as well?

Yes. They add the volume that makes a padded bun look full and natural, and they are often more useful for a bun than for a braid on very fine hair.

How long does fitting take on the wedding morning?

About fifteen minutes as part of the hairstyling, before the braid or bun is built. It adds very little to the overall schedule.

Can you remove them before the reception?

Yes, and we usually do. For a same-day turnaround the extensions come out, hair is brushed through, and they are re-set for the evening style rather than being left in all day.
