Bridal Styling in Chennai

Makeup and hair get the attention, but draping and jewellery setting are what people actually see from across a hall. Pleats that stay sharp and jewellery that sits level, all day.

The Finishing Craft

What styling actually decides

A perfect face above a badly pinned drape reads as a badly styled bride. This is the half of the job that gets talked about least.

Pleats set to your height

Number and depth of pleats are set to your height and the saree's border, so the fall breaks at the right point on your foot rather than pooling.

Pallu positioned for photographs

The pallu is arranged for how you will actually stand and sit through the ceremony, and pinned so it holds that shape when you are moved.

Jewellery set level

Maang tikka centred to your parting, nathu weighted so it does not drag, necklaces layered so they sit flat instead of riding up.

Pinned for movement

You will be lifted, garlanded, seated and turned. Pinning is planned for that, not for standing still in front of a mirror.

Re-pinned between functions

Silk settles and slips over hours. We re-set the drape between the muhurtham and the reception rather than leaving you to tug at it.

Any fabric, any style

Kanjivaram, madisar, half-saree, Gujarati, lehenga and dupatta. Each behaves differently and each is pinned differently.

Before The Day

Bring these and the drape works

Most draping problems on a wedding morning are supply problems, not skill problems. Five things to sort in advance.

  1. 01

    Get the blouse fitted early

A blouse that does not fit cannot be rescued by draping. Have the final fitting at least two weeks out, wearing the actual jewellery.

  2. 02

    Pre-pleat heavy Kanjivarams

Very stiff new silk holds a pleat far better if it has been pressed into shape beforehand. Ask your tailor or send it for pre-pleating.

  3. 03

    Bring a proper petticoat

Matched in colour, correct length, with a drawstring that holds. This unglamorous item is the foundation the entire drape hangs from.

  4. 04

    Safety pins are not enough

We bring bridal pins, but bring your own too. A heavy nine-yard drape uses more pins than most brides expect.

  5. 05

Have your jewellery in one box

Everything in one place, untangled, before the morning. Ten minutes hunting for a missing nathu at 4 AM costs the schedule far more than it should.

FAQ

Bridal StylingQuestions

Is saree draping included with bridal makeup?
Yes. Every package from ₹7,999 includes makeup, hairstyling and draping together. Draping is never charged as a separate add-on for a bridal booking.
How long does bridal saree draping take?
Thirty to sixty minutes for a standard Kanjivaram or lehenga. A madisar takes over an hour, so tell us at booking and the extra time goes into the schedule.
Do you drape madisar sarees?
Yes, in both the Iyer and Iyengar styles. It is a nine-yard drape with a completely different structure, and it needs to be planned for rather than added on the morning.
Will the pleats hold through the whole ceremony?
They are pinned to hold through sitting, being garlanded and being moved. Silk does settle over hours, so we re-pin between functions rather than leaving you adjusting it yourself.
Do you set the bridal jewellery too?
Yes — maang tikka, nathu, necklaces, waist belt and hair jewellery are all set and weighted as part of the booking so they sit level and stay put.
What should I bring for the draping?
The saree, a well-fitted blouse, a matching petticoat with a working drawstring, plenty of safety pins, and all your jewellery together in one box.
Can you drape a lehenga dupatta?
Yes, in several styles — single-side, double dupatta, over the head or belt-set. We will show you the options at the trial against your actual outfit.
Can I book draping on its own without makeup?
Yes, draping-only bookings are possible and are quoted separately. Tell us the outfit and the function and you will have a price the same day.
