Bridal Jewellery Setting in Chennai

Every bride owns beautiful jewellery. Far fewer wear it well — because a maang tikka that sits crooked or a necklace that rides up ruins photographs that nothing else can fix.

Piece By Piece

Six pieces, six problems

Each of these fails in its own specific way over a long day. Each has a specific fix.

Maang tikka

Centred to your actual parting rather than the middle of your forehead, and anchored into the hairstyle so it cannot slide as you move.

Nathu

The nose ring carries real weight and pulls. A support chain to the hair takes the load so it does not drag on the piercing all day.

Layered necklaces

Choker, short haram and long haram have to sit flat at different lengths. Adjusted and secured so nothing rides up over the choker.

Waist belt (oddiyanam)

Set over the drape at the right height so it holds the saree in place rather than cutting into it — it is structural as well as decorative.

Ear jewellery and mattal

Jimikkis are heavy. Ear support and mattal chains hooked into the hair transfer the weight so your earlobes survive the day.

Hair jewellery

Rakodi, nagar, jadai billai and kunjalam set into the hairstyle in the right order and the right sequence down the braid.

Before The Day

Prepare the jewellery, not just the outfit

The wedding morning is not the time to discover a broken clasp. Five things worth doing a week ahead.

  1. 01

    Check every clasp and hook

Rented and heirloom pieces often have tired clasps. Test each one a week out and get anything doubtful repaired.

  2. 02

Untangle and box it all together

One box, everything separated, nothing knotted. Hunting for a missing mattal at 4 AM costs the schedule more than it should.

  3. 03

    Bring it to the trial

Seeing the actual jewellery is how we decide makeup intensity and hairstyle. Photographs of it are second best but still useful.

  4. 04

    Try the heavy pieces on

Wear the nathu and the full necklace set for twenty minutes beforehand. If something is genuinely painful, better to know now.

  5. 05

    Tell us what is rented

Rented sets often have to go back the same night. We will set them so they can be removed quickly without damaging the hairstyle.

FAQ

Jewellery SettingQuestions

Is jewellery setting included in the bridal package?
Yes. Setting your maang tikka, nathu, necklaces, waist belt and hair jewellery is part of every bridal booking from ₹7,999 and is not charged separately.
Do you provide bridal jewellery?
A jewellery set is included in the Platinum package at ₹14,999. Otherwise you bring your own or rented pieces and we set them.
How do you stop a heavy nathu from hurting?
A support chain runs from the nose ring into the hair so the weight is carried by the hairstyle rather than the piercing. It makes the difference between a comfortable day and a painful one.
How do you keep layered necklaces sitting flat?
Each layer is adjusted to a different length and secured at the back so they cannot ride up over one another. Without that, a choker and haram will fight each other within an hour.
Should I bring my jewellery to the trial?
Yes, please do. Seeing the actual pieces is how we decide the makeup intensity and hairstyle, because a full temple set carries very different visual weight from a single choker.
Can you set rented jewellery?
Yes, and we will set it so it can be removed quickly and safely at the end of the night, since rented sets usually have to go back the same day.
How long does jewellery setting take?
Fifteen to twenty-five minutes for a full bridal set, done after the hairstyle and the drape so everything can be positioned against them.
Will you check it during the day?
Yes. Jewellery shifts as you move, so we re-check and re-secure between functions along with the drape and the hairstyle.
